Vaygr Fleet Analysis

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

This post aims to improve the Vaygr fleet, in line with the homeworld universe.
Any ideas, changes or ship concepts are welcome:)

Vaygr Design
-vaygr ships are all built for a singular task - relying on a mix of ships to get the job done.
-their technology is limited, however have acquired some 'modern' tech dew to their inner rim invasion.
-fight in larger numbers, bur are weaker
-most units favour raid attacks when supported.

Current vaygr arsenal
-Flechette
-Kenetic
-Plasma Lance beam (based on mining lasers)
-Missiles
-concushion missiles (anti-corvette)
-Plasma bomb (Trinity cannon)

Complex experimental weaponry
-Ion beam (should be removed imo)
-Perforation pods

Current Vaygr projects

*ORIGINAL POST*

hey so this is my first post ( hope im doing it right Razz )

I have noticed that a few of the vaygr need some attention and love.

i thought id try to see if i could 'vaygerise' some of the non-vaygr ship models such as the dreadnought.

work has already started on the dreadnought- reverse engineering the progenitor tech to enhance the current lance beam technology that is available to the vaygr.

i hope to post my progress here Very Happy i am keen to here about ideas that the community has.

NO, ITS WRONG!!!! (JOKING!) Welcome to the forum!! Very Happy

I get the feeling team are working on the dreadnaught issue, since the progenitors will arrive in the next versoin (Complex 9), and so work will be getting into full swing after C8... team, am I correct?
However, multiple models and options are always welcome!

What other ships are you working on?
And exactly what is the dreadnaught v2.0 going to be?

awesome Very Happy id love to so how complex 9 will implement the progenitors

i am currently ,as i said before in the dreadnought
but i hope to possibly make changes to or offer alternate designs to 'non-vaygr ships' if that makes sense Smile

my thoughts on the dreadnought 2.0 is designed around the cannon array- maybe changing its shape, and putting it into a more vaygr styled BC type hull Wink

i would show you a picture if i knew how to attach one in a reply Razz

There are two ways to attach a picture; the first is through the use of image tags
Code:
[img]image url location here[/img]

Use photobucket or imagebucket, or whatever photo site you want; upload the image, then copy the image's url in between the tags.
The second is by making the thing an attachment to your post (though you should be careful, since there is a maximum quota for posting files directly to the forums.)

i thought i would design the version 2.0 around the main weapon (orange bits Razz )
this would show that the vaygr took progenitor tech to enhance their own

Try this one instead.

Are you merging the two ship outlines, or showing how it looks on different ships?

id love a suggestion

If you are interested in getting into modeling/animation/textures, then Blender would be a good (and free) way to get started. There are numerous tutorials for it, and a very active online community at

; otherwise Google SketchUp would probably be more appropriate for more casual modeling.

Model 5 indeed looks the most vaygr...and the most badass as well Razz
Although I think we should defo ditch the giant laser beam and give it alot of missile launchers...torpedos or whatever^^
It's Vaygr after all...not Progenators

@kookie, where is the topic we discussed this?
Yes, missiles...

HOWEVER- if a beam were to be used, I too think 5... or 6? but mostly 5 (I should point out that once someone has suggested 5, everyone else will tend to suggest that also...)

imo the point of the dreadnought similar to the hig Juggernaut? - ish

a slow anti cap ship, lots of hp,instant damage
If the dreadnought was armed with missiles there would need a boost in another stat to make up for the missiles vulnerability(vs fast trackers)?

but im no weapon expert Razz ill start working on hull 5 it seems to bee most popular Very Happy
