0.9.5 pre-release out:
My PC crashed forever, so no self-install for this release, try it at the old manner -overridebigfile, but it works so well! Believe in me, we're at the end!
Last beta 0.9.5, full release:
http://www.homeworld2complex.com/data.zip
Read specs below:
-I strongly recommend the beta releases to expert players/modders of Complex, it's directed to who wants improve the project and to escort it to the final official release, casual gamers may have a lot of problems due to the actual instability of the gameplay.
-the last playable version is the 7.4.4 http://complex.mastertopforum.com/download-complex-last-release-7-4-vt27.html
-beta releases will follow one another about any 1-2 weeks;
-don't post the download link on external web sites or forum threads, the beta is only for registered members and must be downloaded only from this forum section;
-feel free to post anything you want in this thread about testing, fixing, tuning and so on (a single topic for any bug, improvement, idea, opinion, should be OK), moderators and team will be here to hear and improve the final result.

Generally speaking, it takes time to find suitable places to put the file so others can download it. Then you need to choose which ones are best and will be used. Then, uploading large files is no walk in the park either; uploading is usually (with most deals offered by most ISPs, that is) much slower than downloading, and for reference uploading a 500MB file even on some of the best personal (i.e. not including specialized-service or corporate lines) internet connections in europe can take more than three hours. Plus, you have to monitor the upload and check it every few minutes to make sure it doesn't cut, or you'll have to start all over again.
That's only for the actual distribution of the files, it doesn't take into account any compiling, file cleaning, optimizing, last-minute debugging, or anything else that Beghins might be doing to make sure the mod will even work for us.
Granted, this is Beghins' own website, but that doesn't necessarily mean he has the actual server hosting his files somewhere in his basement. He might still have to go through all of the above process to get stuff on his own website. All this to say: Never doubt or question a modmaster's word on his own stuff; there are always good reasons behind things even if they're not being mentioned.
Looking forward to this. It's also been quite a while since I've touched Homeworld2's data files, so I'm also hoping to take a look into the guts of the thing after a bit of testing and see if I can find one or two little things to fix.

No, cause I'm at job, Complex has a dedicated server and the upload is done by a 100Mega optic fibre from my house, it's an issue of few seconds but the beta 0.1 needs still few fixing else it will be more unstable then you imagine, but I hope not so, anyway 11-12 hours and it will be on. _________________ www.homeworld2complex.com

Changelogs are convenience features for release products
Since you're here to test the mod (or you wouldn't be waiting on a beta download version), you shouldn't need a changelog; you're going to be exploring, fiddling, and messing around with every single part of it anyways, to make sure that both everything new and everything old work (or still work) well on their own and with eachother interacting.
Then again, that's what professional testers are supposed to be doing. I sometimes take things a bit too seriously on these matters.
Of course, I'm just playing devil's advocate and being an ass because I have nothing better to do while waiting for this to come out. |

anyway beghins do you have any conception about this testing? like which should we test first? on which ships we should focus?
i guess one of the things will be the new power system but what else?
i can take a look at typos grammar and other such things if you want.... |

DaFranker, i dont need your comments, i need Beghins or Team's comments, and it seems, not only me. Sorry.
And i think that this thead is for conversation between developer and testers, byt not for conversation between testers. There should be a minimum of unnecessary information. _________________ "Russian-languadged ComplexMod Multiplayer Community forum"

DaFranker is abit on the mark. Everything should be tested thoroughly. Provide whatever errors you get and as much detail should be a given. With how old HW2 is there any merit in giving system specs in reports since practically everything can run HW2? I know Complex is a different beast however. Later tests perhaps there will be more hand holding and pointing out of what should be focused on. Perhaps some format for bug write ups? Certain details you want minimum in said write ups? |

ive already discussed Mantis bug tracker system with Beghins and well see if he can manage to put it up because that would help a lot but even forum posts with correct naming will be enough ie:
(Bug type for example CRASH, BALANCE, etc.) Topic Name
since most of us has been here for some time lets refrain from using topic names like: help!!! cannot play..... |
