I just noticed this, and it's not really a bug, but I don't know where else to say anything about it.

Planet maps like Frozen Space and Jupiter fields aren't in the map list anymore.
I was wondering if they were removed entirely due to some new issue with planets, or if they're gonna be in the final release, because I really enjoyed some of them.

hey guys after longer time i had the chance to play a bit the 05 beta and found somethings. It was a Game with 3 CPUs on expert. 2 enemys, 1 allied.

1. After loading an evolution game some buttons are gone.

2. The Population of the Oribtal Station never gets higher than 10000.

3. The Mining Containers are going to every Mining base even if its 150km away.
If possible there should be a limit that they dont visit bases that are faurther than 25km.

but the worst of all was that the AI only attacked me once and and my allied also attacked another AI just once.
The agression level needs more crew for attacks than they can have available from station. There have to be a change, more crew or another agression level.

Evolution really needs severe balancing. Its only in beta right now, but it really, really needs attention. Theres just so much that could be done (and that needs to be done). Regardless, it'll get sorted out soon.

My issues:

The starting fleet. Much too large. You shouldn't start off with shipyard, Orbital Station, Weapons Sation and assorted others - its annoying. ITs also a bit boring - since you already have these behemth structures, theres not much more toachieve other than a few capital ships. Theres even less reason to resort to any sub-destroyer class hip, since you already (basically) have access to quite a few large capital ships.

Resources. The previous issue compounds this - starting off with so few resouces yet such a large fleet to support is no fun at all. Starting fleet should be the MS, 3-5 collectors, and maybe a scavenger (seems to fit with the theme).

Times. Its annoying to have to wait for such a long time for something to be built...thats why I never set the build times to low i regular Complex. It doesn't really add strategy when everthing is slowed down. It just makes you wait. And wait. AND wait. It is quite annoying. Same with resourcing. There is no benefit to you to have to wait for so long! If anything happens to you, you have to wait another 15 minutes to recover....and if you run out of power? Quit now. Save yourself.

I find the Times issue is really annoying and makes the Evolution game mode relatively unplayable atm.

Tried it with the game I already was in, and with a completly new game, both the same result the buttons are gone. I will test if it happens also in Complex custum games.

Edit: ya it happens in every gametype i load.

Another issue that I think is known and probably not solvable.

Using the Scavenger Miner missles in the Asteroid Belt on Complex Evolution is somewhat annoying.

Sometimes it takes only 1 missile to blow up the asteroid...it's a straight shot...and boom.

Other times it's 2-3 miner missles (which at 1000ru's a piece is quite an investment).


Also, the debris around Earth is not "debris" as in not captureable.

So far there are only two things that may be considered bugs but I'm not entirely sure about, hopefully someone could shed some light on how when ever a weapons fires there is no sound effect to state that a shot was fired. I do not know whether this issue has been covered as of yet, it's not a huge issue just one that might be addressed with future patches.

Secondly, I seem to find it odd how the artillery turrets of the weapons station have such a massive range whereas ships designed for artillery use have a slightly more realistic weapons range, but I'll the decisions to the guys that have made such a good game even better.

I can confirm this. This happens, it appears, in both Evolution and Complex Custom.

Heres a whole thread about this issue - many agree on that. Is quite strange (and unbalanced)

You men you never hear any sound effects whne a turret fires its weapons? Maybe check your in-game settings to see if SFX is turned up. Other than that, not sure...

I presume your installation is correct, try to reinstall the beta (cancel/erase any previous version, see first post), if this bug appears on more then 2 users it need to be fixed, are someone other experiencing this strange thing?

OK cost reduced to 500, and damage increased

You didn't specify first post of the beta test thread. ;-D
I just dumped the 0.5 files on top of the 0.41 files when I 'installed' it.
I'll do this tomorrow, it's 3:30 AM here and I don't have the wherewithal to actually do this correctly, and since my HW2 disc is literally broken in half, I don't wanna screw it up.

My install is always the same way, kill all old stuff and then place the new in there, but ok i will do it again and look but i think i won't change.

Edit :Re-installesd the Beta and the buttons are gone again, with a new game after loading.
And i fogot to tell that in the beginning of a match, while the buildingmenu is greyed and not useable, if you open the queuemenue (default key "Q") the game crashes.

Alewx try this, after the "no button" error, close the game, go in ..\bin\release open hw2 with notepad and copy/paste here.
