he is so fascinated by the new ship models that he forgets to play seriously and looses quickly in the end. my first game was very similar to this: i was so busy looking at stuff that serious gameplay was impossible.

yes this is a crash but we need your log bin/release/hwrm.log, immediately after the crash, then I need to know settings of your match, map, time of crash and so on

Complex11Electron.big?
Run Complex without other mods and you will not have issues, ComplexElectron doesn't support version 11.x

Thank you very much for this release Wink
I would like to ask one question - is it normal that enemies are very passive even on Aggresive setting with Extreme AI aid?

Every time I start a skirmish enemy will very rarely send any forces to confront me.
Most of the time only handful of fighters and corvettes will attack my position and before any serious threat starts I'm able to send my first destroyers and battlecruisers into the fray without any problems.

When I was playing Complex 9 enemy would keep sending small forces every few minutes to keep me occupied and it was awesome especially when fighting 1v3 - but Complex 11 feels like easy mode compared to old version.
AI is not aggresive enought and pose no serious threat even when fighting 1v3 Sad

Could it be modified somehow by some preset or something? Because Aggresive + Extreme is too easy.

That is not normal, AI should be pretty hard even on easy.
It is propabli interfer with other mods/content.

Unfortunatelly it's not possible - I did the fresh HW install via Steam especially to install your mod and the only mod I have active right now is Complex 11.4.2.
It doesn't matter which race I'm fighting against - AI is just very passive in the early-mid game.
It gets a little harder in the end-game when it's surrounded by tons of defense turrets, defense frigates, protected by shield and spamming roller mines, cruise missiles etc. but still - it's too easy to survive early and mid game because enemy is not attacking, just getting little closer to player's position and then retreating immediately O_o

Like I said - in Complex 9 enemy AI was always storming player's position and resource operations with swarms of units.
In Complex 11 AI is too passive and it seems like it's investing only in defenses no matter what behavior option I choose.

Or maybe I'm playing too good after years of getting beaten up in C9 Wink I dunno.
Just letting you know about my C11 impressions.
Awesome mod nonetheless, I always loved Complex and I hope you will keep updating it Smile

Try lower your difficulty, somewhere around balance.
Extreme hard AI is not as hard like balanced AI.

have you the same issue even with "aggressive"? Yes I think the AI should be more aggressive at the beginning and rarely retire when attacking.

So far I have played vs Defensive (when I was playing my very first match in C11 to check Taiidan), Dynamic and Aggresive opponent. Several matches with different levels of AI aid, most of them set to Extreme.

And difference in difficulties in my opinion is almost non-existant.

AI always follows very similar tactic - builds dozens of resource collectors, defense turrets and sends very small waves of bombers and corvettes which come just close to my base and very, very rarelly attacks. Most of the time retreating.
I have to bait enemy units into fight because they are not interested on their own.

Even when I see that enemy is amassing lot's of ships already - in the end they are patrolling perimeter not far from mothership and not engaging player at all.

Only in end-game, when enemy is building battlecruisers they send them via hyperspace to the outskirts of my base and very shyly attack units that I send to bait them into fight.
Like AI was scared of me or something Wink

I remember when I was playing C9 and had to be on my toes for the whole match because enemy sent wave after wave from different directions at me no matter the losses.
And I loved it.
Now - it's too easy! Like AI doesn't care about me and nothing interesting happens for 90% of the match.
Only when resources near it's starting location are depleted it comes closer and is forced to assault.
But early-mid game? Boring Crying or Very sad

I know it's only stupid AI and Complex is best served when playing versus live opponents, and I do that with my friends sometimes. We love your mod Smile
But I remember AI of Complex being very difficult to beat and very entertaining in earlier versions.
In C11 it's just too passive for my taste.

OK, you are really competent here, try the new 11.4.3 there's a new AI "berserk", try all types, tell me how is it in general, maybe another update for the 11 will follow based on your feedback, thank you

I actually saw update for your mod today that added new difficulty level and I did some testing already.

Map - Grondola, 1v1, Berserk + Extreme Aid. Hiig vs Hiig.

On the beginning of the match I've sent my scout and little network of probes around enemy base to see exactly what it is doing.

Unfortunatelly early and mid game seems untouched - just like before enemy AI is focusing on building dozens of resource collectors, defense turrets, sending one probe to my base and later - one scout.

In the meantime it starts building groups of corvettes and bombers, sometimes few interceptors but all they do is stick close to their mothership.

Most of early and mid game looked static, without any movement from enemy side.

I've waited patiently. No movement at all for 20+ minutes.
It gave me a lot of time to prepare without any opposition. Meh ; /

But I've noticed one change - enemy started to send units my way at the beginning of the end-game. It started building destroyers and juggernauts and AI even send one juggernaut to my base - but I intercepted it without any problems.
Threat level - zero.

Later AI started to send small forces of corvettes and frigates but unfortunatelly they did not attack at all - just kept away from my mothership, but not far enough to not get stomped by Sentinel:

Enemy got a little more active in the end game, when it started using destroyers + battlecruisers, sending them my way but at this point my position was so fortified that AI didn't stand a chance.
I've quickly got rid of them, moved all my units closer to enemy base, destroyed enemy resource operations and all cruise missiles that AI sent my way, waited for a long time untill enemy mothership's shield got depleted and finished my match.

There is a very little, noticeable improvement in today's update - AI started getting serious a little earlier into end-game than before but still it posed little to no threat.

I've even did a small test with few of my fighters on Passive+Evasive - I've send them to enemy base to one of the enemy unit groups (like seen on my first screenshot) and enemy started attacking only when my fighters almost crashed into their ships.
I was able to fly into enemy base without any serious reaction from AI.

I'll try different map and other settings tomorrow, maybe I'll manage to find some golden mean.
