8.9.4 playing on the Solar System map, huge! Just don’t have the crew and officers to deal with a scenario on this scale officers maxed out at 45, crew maxed out at 930 and I cannot find a way to increase this amount to make the number of units I need to colonize more than 2-3 planets! Is there a way to increase the number of crews etc, preferably without having to start a new game all over again? Am I going to have to learn to do scripting and cutting up the guts of the game to make this happen?

If i know right, preferences cannot be modofied during a game.


U can try 2 things (as Hiigaran) for a new game to raise the limits:

-extract the big file with mod packager (complex tool pack avaible in the forum), then change the shortcut with "-overridbigfile"


After that you will able to modifie the mod's files. It's possible, to raise the limit of crew stations built, this will u to build more barracks. - and makes extremly hard playing agnist Hiigaran AI Smile

The second way is to modifie the population file in /data/leveldata/multiplayer/lib/population.lua file to your liking.
Btw the "if unitcapsrank = ..." based script is not working, simple comment out the 153, 156-171 lines then write new values to 154 and 155 lines. This methode will cause linear increasement in both unit and officer limits.

thanks for that info, just a shame i cannot continue with my scenario with 8.0.9.4 i get CTD when i try to save the game beyond 4.5hrs play so i will not be able to dominate the Solar system this time around.

I just seen it once. That map is great and big, but not suitible for HW2.

Yes I agree, I think complex reached too far with the Solar System map, Complex is not ready for something on this scale…which is a shame would have been one hell of a game with real depth.
